Skin Fixes on the Cheap

For people like me

Aspirin Mask
crush uncoated aspirin (or use aspirin powder) and mix with water and apply to skin. Aspirin (acetyl salicylic acid is related to salicylic acid -- a common chemical found in skin products also known as beta hydroxy acid. It's good for unclogging pores, fading scars, and exfoliating.)

Aspirin Toner
Overall: It really works amazingly on zits and blackheads dissapear
Directions: In a travel-sized 3 oz. shampoo bottle (Avalible at drugstores and beauty supply stores).Throw in:
20 or so crushed (Or just dissolved) un-coated aspirin tablets.
A big sqirt of aloe vera gel (I buy it in bottles from walgreens near the sunblock). (Optional)
Fill about 3/4 the way up the bottle w/ spring water.

This recipe isn't exact by any means. You can probably use however much of each ingredient you want.

Strain the aspirin and water mixture in a strainer or through a coffee filter and put it in a spray bottle so you don't have the obnoxious chunks of aspirin. Or you can leave the chunks in it and shake it before use and poor some on a cotton pad and then flip it over so the shunks are on the other side then swipe over face. Or you can leave the chunks in and use alot more aspirin and make a mask in a bottle basicly and dot it on like a on the spot aspirin mask for a zit!

After you cleanse Rub a layer of the Aspirin water w/ fingers all over (you have to shake it each time because the aspirin settles).

When it has dried on your face, brush off any undissolved bits from your skin, and VOILA! BHA Toner. If you apply it directly to a zit a few times a day, the zit is completely gone in 2 days.

Mock Tend Skin (Tend Skin is a product sold for treating and preventing ingrown hairs)

Crush 18 uncoated aspirin and dissolve in 5.5. oz 70 % rubbing alcohol.
Crush 8 uncoated aspirin and dissolve in 2.5 oz. witch hazel.
Combine the 2 solutions.

Vitamin C Serum
Speaking of vitamin c, here is a vitamin C serum (like Cellex-C or Skinceuticals, but this formulation is actually more stable and hence more effective. It also doesn't cost $75 like they do --

(AA is l-ascorbic acid. This is the most stable form of vitamin c which is also effective when applied topically. It comes in powder and crystal form. Do not buy buffered vitamin C. Solgar and NOW are good brands)

for 20% solution w/w
1/4 tsp of AA + 8 mL of water
8 mL of water is a bit more than 1 1/2 tsp

for 10% solution w/w
1/4 tsp of AA + 18 mL of water
18 mL of water is a bit more than 1 tbsp + 1/2 tsp

do not go above 20%. it is irritating and you lose efficacy with concentrations over 20%.
